A note to my internet friends

Rest In Peace Justin

March 9, 2022

I wanted to come on here and give an update to why my work is so behind. I was really good about keeping up with my trips and posting. I am so behind and I apologize. Every day I have been trying to find the time to come on and update. I took an Alaska sailing in August of 2022 and had a beautiful sailing. It was the sailing of a lifetime, a bucket list sailing. I got off of that sailing to find out that my beloved son was murdered just hours of my getting on my flight to come home. It has been a terrible time for myself and my family. We went through our first Thanksgiving, Christmas and his January birthday without him. The pain is the most unbearable pain that I have ever felt as a human being. I am trying to get back to normal, slowly but surely. Thankfully, I am blessed to be able to have continued to travel. Travel allows me the time to reflect on my life both past, present and future, enjoy life and family. My cruises have helped my mind and gives me moments to sit with God while listening to the ocean. A time to reflect and gather thoughts.

Please forgive me if I have delayed messages and travel information. I am trying to get those messages returned. I certainly appreciate those of you who have subscribed to my Youtube Channel and I will be back to uploading videos soon. I am working on work from April of 2021 right now. Thank you again for those of you who have supported my channel!

Blessings to you and yours

Michelle

Disney’s Dolphin and Swan Resort in Orlando, Florida

Disney’s Dolphin Hotel Resort

I visited the Disney’s Dolphin Resort in April of 2021 during the Covid Pandemic. Our choice for this hotel was not only the fact I had not stayed there before, but it was also on my list of wished destinations! It was a wonderful resort to choose since we were going to be visiting Disney’s Epcot Park and it allowed us just a short walk to Epcot. The Dolphin and Swan Hotel are located on Disney Property in the Epcot Resort area, but is a Marriott and Westin Property.

To book a resort reservation for this hotel you will need to visit the website to the property which will allow you to book either the Swan or Dolphin. You will not find it on the Walt Disney World website even though it sits on Disney Property. The website to book a room is https://swandolphin.com

Dolphin is a Marriott Property and The Swan is a Westin Property. We stayed at the Dolphin. The Dolphin and the Swan are walkable to each other. The property is beautiful and is really pretty in the evening when lit up. The resort has a variety of options for dining which was very easy to book a dining reservation through the Open Table App. You will not be able to book reservations for dining on the Walt Disney World app. You can download the Open Table app to your smart phone.

The resort for both Dolphin and Swan have a large area of pools with slides, lounger chairs and tables, bars, play grounds for your children, a fitness center, a business center, shops, java cafe’s and a place to get ice cream dipped or soft serve, boats to rent, a beach and plenty of areas to sit and relax if need be. The resort is located walking distance to the Disney’s Boardwalk Hotel. The Boardwalk is a nice walk to the other Epcot Resort Hotels such as The Beach and Yacht Club resorts, The Disney Boardwalk Hotel and the Entrance to Epcot can all be walked along Disney’s Boardwalk. It also provides a variety of shops, dining and bars. You can also rent Surrey Bikes. The bars and restaurants along the Disney’s Boardwalk take reservations made through the Walt Disney World website under dining.

Our room was clean, spacious and had all the amenities we needed like free bottle water, Starbucks for in room coffee, shampoo, conditioner, bath soap, hair dryer, safe, ice bucket and laundry bags. I have included some video of the room also in the video below.

Disney Transportation for the Dolphin Hotel area is either by bus or boat. The boat ramp sits between the Dolphin and Swan hotels for easy access and makes many stops. The transportation is free for resort guests.

Please visit my Youtube video below to view my visit to the property. I provide a lot of photos and video of the area in hopes to help your planning of your visit. Remember to subscribe to my Youtube Channel, it is free and you will never miss any of my travel content.

Mahogany Bay Cruise Port in Roatan, Honduras

Port of Mahogany Bay Beach Side

Mahogany Bay Cruise Port sits in the beautiful country of Honduras. The Cruise Port is located on the island of Roatan and is owned and operated by Carnival Cruise Lines. It is only offered to those patrons who cruise on ships run by Carnival Cruise Line Corporation. We visited this port in January of 2020 while on a Carnival Breeze Cruise that took us to the Western Itinerary! What a beautiful view from the ship! The water, all the windmills and mountains are so beautiful!

This port is beautiful with it’s lush green landscaping and flowers! A nice spot to relax, shop, have lunch, go to the beach, take a nature trail walk or perhaps just lay in a lounge chair with a nice book! The port has several options to choose from in the Beach Rental department. All sorts of sports rentals and snorkel gear. The area to kayak was really nice! There is a nature trail that you can take prior to going over the bridge to get to the beach. We walked it and it was nice but it is not wheel chair assessable! I really enjoyed the walk across the bridge. It offered a great view of the ship! The chair lift is available too that will take you to the beach. At the time of our visit the chair lift was $16 per person to ride. We selected not to ride but to walk and take our time. My next visit I plan to ride the chair lift to get some really nice views!

This port also offers several options for food and drink. Plenty of options for alcoholic beverages! There was a stand that had Jerk Chicken being cooked on a huge food smoker, while we did not eat there, it smelled delicious! We elected to eat at Fat Tuesday and the food was really good. It offered all kinds of American cuisine and some authentic dishes. The restaurant has a nice Island vibe with music and drink!

Shopping is available entering the port and on both sides of the port when you come in, if you are interested! Do not forget it is also duty free shopping! The shops offered up trinkets, beautiful wood carved items, souvenirs and much more! There is also an outdoor local craft market that had many items to choose from. I found the people of the island very nice and humble, not pushy at all!

This port also offers excursions that you can choose from directly on your booking through Carnival Cruise Line prior to sailing. You will see the numbered meeting areas for excursions as you walk in to the port after the duty free shop! You can’t miss them!

We elected to walk around and see the port since we had never been before. We got some food and drink, shopped, walked the nature trail and visited the craft market! It was a great day! Certainly a port that I can not wait to return to!

Below I have included some photos of my day at the port and included my Youtube video for your viewing pleasure.

Norwegian Sun Cruise

Norwegian Sun Ship ported in Nassau Bahamas

My brother and I sailed on the Norwegian Sun in May of 2018. It was a 3 night Bahama cruise. We sailed from Port Canaveral Cruise Port in Florida. She would be our second Norwegian Cruise Line cruise. Embarking was smooth and painless. We did not have a long wait and was on board in no time. She had a 3 deck atrium with gold trim. The carpets had swirls of blues and creams. The rich wood columns made the atrium look very elegant. Walking on board was a nice invite from the crew who were there to greet you, security and personal selling lanyards to spa information. The staff was very friendly. She was a small intimate ship.

Our Stateroom

We had a balcony cabin on deck 9 forward. Room 9025 was our stateroom. It was a roomy and cozy cabin. It had a king bed that converted to two twin beds which we had separated. There was an end table that separated our beds and lighting was on the mirror wall for a night light if needed. The decor was nice and modern, the furniture was in good shape but did show some signs of wear, the closet was good size and was stocked with plenty of hangers. There was a vanity desk with mirror and stool. It was also a console with drawers and storage area. A mini fridge was available and a hair dryer. The stateroom had plenty of area for storage and the beds were high enough to roll the empty luggage under for storage. The couch was a pull out bed that we did not use. The bathroom was decent, standard size, it had a shower, sink and toilet. There was plenty of soap and shampoo in the shower that was available if needed. The balcony had a table and two chairs and was a decent size. The stateroom was clean and our host was really attentive to our needs and kept us stocked with what we needed.

Recreation on board

The Norwegian Sun had a lot of options for recreation on board. You will find something for everyone on board! The activity program had several options for games and trivia along with theater shows. The ship also had shuffleboard, ping pong, basketball and volleyball court. The main pool area had two swimming pools and four hot tubs. Plenty of lounge chairs were available but does get busy on Sea Days. There is also a kiddie pool and a hot tub on deck 12. The ship also offers a library which had board games, cards and books for your leisure entertainment. The art gallery is available for all your art needs or if you just want to browse the ones on display around the ship. If it’s shopping your looking for there are shops on board with options from personal items, liquor, cigarettes, clothing, souvenirs and high and non high end jewelry! Do not forget to check out the Spa on board to get a nice relaxing service of nails, hair or massage! The ship also has a Fitness gym with bikes, treadmills, free weights, ellipticals and classes! The Casino on board offers tables and slots.

Dining and Bars:

The ship has many dining options available on board. Specialty dining is available for an extra charge and can be reserved prior to sailing in your reservation account online.

I have included below a Youtube Pictorial video of my Norwegian Sun Cruise back in 2018. I do plan to sail her again and will provide an updated video on her since she has been refurbished since my sailing. Please do not forget to subscribe to the channel for more of my travel content!

Memphis Zoo Entrance May 2020

I visited the Memphis Zoo during my trip to Memphis in May of 2020. During our trip, we were faced with the Covid-19 pandemic so some things were not available at the zoo. While visiting Memphis, our main focus was Graceland. We had stayed at the Guest House at Graceland and visited the mansion along with the Entertainment complex. What a bucket list, memorable trip it was! While visiting Memphis we had a whole day to waste and thought that a trip to the zoo would be nice. We were glad that we did. It was not very far from Graceland, about a 20 minute drive if I remember right. We stopped at a little restaurant called Brother Juniper’s in downtown Memphis before going to the zoo. The food was really good, service was good and the price wasn’t bad! They give you a lot of food so be hungry! They also have a little gift shop that sells some of the products to bring home like coffee mugs, jellies etc.

The zoo was a great time! My favorite moment was the China exhibit, the panda bear was so adorable eating his breakfast of bamboo! I could have sat for hours watching him! There were a lot of great animals to see! If you are in the Memphis area, check out the zoo! There is a park with picnic tables to eat lunch or a snack at and great play grounds for the kids to play on. They had a few gift shops and places to eat and get snacks! I have attached my Youtube video of my trip to the zoo! Be sure to subscribe to my channel if you like my content!
